JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team at Kobalt Construction. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment for various construction projects, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications. Your expertise will be crucial in moving materials, digging trenches, and performing other essential tasks to support the success of our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, and loaders to complete tasks on construction sites.
- Perform site preparation tasks including grading, trenching, and excavation.
- Follow safety procedures and adhere to company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in the movement of materials around the construction site to ensure efficient workflow.
- Conduct regular maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Work closely with other team members, including laborers and supervisors, to complete projects according to deadlines.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Equipment Operator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of operating various types of heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and site layouts.
- Strong attention to safety and detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA certification and/or other relevant certifications preferred.
